Special Olympics at New Earswick

We work closely with City of York Special Olympics  to provide competitive opportunities to athletes with learning difficulties The club is delighted to support athletes of 4 sports in participating at Special Olympic events - indooor bowls, short mat bowls, boccia and new age kurling.
We also host Special Olympic regional events. The most recent event to be hosted here was the  Yorkshire & Humberside bowls tournament on Sunday 14th April 2013 (see beow for lingk to press report).
We are indebted to our coaches and volunteers who make attendance at these events possible, often helping to run the event as well as support the athletes .
Athletes willing to train regularly can be supported in bowls, short mat bowls, new age kurling and Boccia .
Five short mat bowlers and ten  boccia players competed at the 2013 National games held in Bath in August 2013 .
