About New Earswick Indoor Bowls Club

New Earswick Indoor Bowls Club, located close to York City Centre, boasts 8 International standard bowling rinks, 2 bars and our excellent Chalkers restaurant and function room. Open 7 days a week from 8.30am, with lots of free parking onsite and located on the No. 5 bus route, there really is no better place to enjoy the sport of Indoor Bowls.

New bowlers are always welcome and we cater for all ages and abilities with regular coaching evenings and free taster sessions for the beginner through to the experienced bowler. We have full wheelchair access and host regular bowling sessions and boccia for disabled groups and promote full inclusion in all our activities. Equipment is never a problem as we can provide both woods and shoes to get everyone started.

We have full league programmes all year round so whatever your motives for trying a new sport or activity, Indoor bowls provides regular exercise, competition or social fun and is a great way to meet new people in a warm and friendly club.

Opened almost 25 years ago, New Earswick Indoor Bowls Club has gone from strength to strength culminating in our hosting of the England v Scotland Test Matches in 2016 & 2017 which were shown live on ITV.

We regularly host county and national bowling matches to compliment our own weekly 24 league program of matches, their really is no better venue to improve your bowling skills and knowledge whilst meeting friendly like-minded people.

Our first floor restaurant and bar set out for a wedding.

We house 8 indoor rinks measuring 36.7m x 4.5m.

Aside from our excellent bowling facilities we have our green side ground floor lounge and barĀ  area. On the first floor, with great views overlooking the indoor bowling area, we have a 100 seater restaurant area complete with bar and dance floor, which is available to hire for groups and classes, meetings, weddings, funeral wakes, parties and much more.
